Software Packages for MOO

Several software packages are available for MOO servers. These packages are written to work on JHCore-based MOO servers, but can be modified to work on other platforms.

Time-Zone Watches (archive, README)

A Time-Zone Watch lets you indicate which time-zone you're currently in and modifies your user description so that your local time is displayed when other people look at you. The watches can also be used to convert times in different time-zones. A watch's time-zone can be set by hand or set automatically if your client supports the dns-com-awns-timezone MCP/2.1 package.

This package also contains a Watch Dispenser, a simple vending-machine object that you can leave in a room and which allows people to get watches for themselves.

Stock Ticker (archive, README)

A neat object that displays stock symbol prices. You can talk to it and it'll reply to the room. It also integrates into the room's description. Works in conjunction with the dns-com-awns-displayurl MCP/2.1 package.

Spell-Checker Interface (archive, README)

A spell checker for MOO. It sits in a room and you can ask it to check the spelling of words. Works in conjunction with the dns-com-awns-ispell MCP/2.1 package.

Search-Engine Interface (archive, README)

An interface for the popular Google search engine. It sits in a room and you can speak search-terms to it. The object responds by sending a relevent URL to your client. Works in conjunction with the dns-com-awns-displayurl MCP/2.1 package.
